Abstract

For acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP) Kendra Armstrong, a career idea sparked by a tragedy decades ago has bloomed into a lifelong pursuit of excellence, education and service. Her nursing journey spans 26 years and encompasses three degrees, four nursing roles and two certifications.

From her humble beginnings as a nursing assistant in 1992, the self-motivated Armstrong worked her way from certified nursing assistant (CNA) to LPN (1994) to RN (2007) to PCCN (2010) to ACNPC-AG (2017), and today she serves as an ACNP at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Georgia. She continues to strive to “do more and be more.”
