Abstract

Mentally deficient and borderline recruits show substantially similar patterns of proficiency on the five subparts of the Bellevue scale. They perform best on comprehension and poorest on arithmetic, with digit span the best single indicator. There is no evidence that rote memory is above the average of other mental functions in defectives. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
