Abstract

In an attempt to test the hypothesis that perception of ambiguous visual stimuli is related to personality deviations, 50 Rorschach concepts were presented to 214 subjects, representing varied psychiatric groups. Procedure and results are described in detail. The data were analyzed for (1) the number of concepts reported “seen,” (2) the number of judgments correct according to a key devised in advance, (3) a variability score, (4) Total R, and (5) F + %. “For all five variables the over-all differences in means for the several groups were significant at the .01 level or better.” 20 references.
