Abstract

The hypothesis that anxiety aroused by sexual ideation would be projected into material which was non-anxiety provoking originally tended to be substantiated in the case of 88 hospitalized psychotics. Half of the subjects were asked to associated 113 words with either male or female sexual organs. Immediately afterwards, they completed Tests I and II of the Pressey Interest-Attitude Scale. The order was reversed for the second group of subjects. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
