To evaluate success of transplanted oral epithelium in corneal surface reconstruction in aniridia patients

25 patients suffered from congenital aniridia accompanied by aniridial keratopathy underwent COMET procedure. Confocal microscopy examination was performed 7, 14 and 28 days after transplantation. Number of cell layers, cell density and stability of epithelium was evaluated

The survival of transplanted oral epithelium is corelated with early postoperative evaluation of epithelial graft

Confocal microscopy examination could be useful to predict survival time of oral epithelial graft
