Neurological examination in children might be a difficult task especially for the impatient physician. The aim is the same as in adulthood – evaluation of the function of the nervous system – but putting it in practice depends on the approach and on the age of the patient. Looking at the patient is mandatory, in order to see the particularities, if present, the interaction with persons around and how is he moving and uses his hands. Wise use of the tools needed for examination is important. To start the evaluation by using the stethoscope or the hammer might be the end of the neurological examination. We are going to share our experience and approach in developmental and neurological examination of children, through clinical cases from our practice.
