compare difference of girls-teenagers with overweight/obesity and without it – various genotype carriers of polymorphic loci A23525T (rs9939609) of gene FTO.

Materials and methods

There have been examined 129 girls, living in the East Siberia in Russia (Irkutsk). The control group is 59 girls with sds BMI 0,78±0,07(aged 15,5±0,12). The key group – 70 girls with sds BMI 2,46±0,08 (aged 15,76±0,13). There carried out the antropometric measurement analysis, foldind parameters, and also polymorphic loci rs9939609 of gene FTO molecular genetic testing.

According to the molecular genetic testing of polymorphic loci rs9939609 of gene FTO all the girls are divided into 3 groups: carriers of AA-, TT- and AT-genotypes. Genotype frequency in the control group: AA 39,0%, AT 39,0%, TT 22,0%, in the key group: 25,7%, 45,7%, 28,6% respectively. A – allele frequency in the control group is 58,5%, in the key group – 48,6%. Significant difference of genotype frequency and alleles in the control and the key group was not revealed. Statistically significant antropometric measurement differences of various genotype carriers were not revealed in the control group. In the group with overweight/obesity A–allele carriers (genotypes AA and AT) had higher anthropometric measurements: sds BMI (2,73±0,15 AA-genotype carriers versus 2,30±0,11 AT-genotype carriers (p=0,01) and 2,35±0,18 TT-genotype carriers (p=0,04), body fat% (47,0±1,25% AA-genotype carriers versus 42,4±1,6% TT-genotype carriers (p=0,01), hip width (111,7±2,8 cm AA-genotype carriers versus 106,5±1,6 cm AT-genotype carriers (p=0,03), and also subcutaneous fat lines in the chest region (1,05±0,04 cm AA-genotype carriers versus 0,93±0,03 cm AT-genotype carriers (p=0,03) and 0,89±0,03 cm TT-genotype carriers (p=0,01), biceps (1,17±0,06cm AA-genotype carriers versus 1,02±0,03cm TT-genotype carriers (p=0,01) and 1,0±0,03cm AT-genotype carriers (p=0,01), belly (2,07±0,1cm AT-genotype carriers versus 1,89±0,08cm AT-genotype carriers (p=0,02) and 1,85±0,06cm TT-genotype carriers (p=0,04).

Girls with BMI/obesity – A–allele polymorphic carriers A23525T of gene FTO, anthropometric measurements are higher than T-allele carriers’.
