This revision of Austin Chinn's 1967 textbook of the same title is concise and readable despite the fact that it has 53 authors. The editor and his advisory committee decided, that the new book “should not simply comprise a number of subspeciality chapters, but rather should emphasize the geriatric patient.” They have succeeded commendably in this aim.
