Abstract

Emergencies of any type require prompt attention to prevent loss of life, but those induced by chemicals call for more than a passing knowledge of the site of action and the means both for removal of the offending agent and for prevention of further absorption. Where specific antidotes are available they should be used to counteract the already absorbed chemical.
