That ectopic non-neoplastic thyroid tissue may be included in cervical lymph nodes has been well established (1–5). We have found reports of 37 such cases in which subserial or serial sections failed to reveal a primary carcinoma within the thyroid gland. We know of no reports of thyroid carcinoma arising in such lymph nodes; we present here a case of such an occurrence.
