The principles of human genetics are covered in six sections, each devoted to a different aspect. Meiosis, mitosis, and chromosome structure and function are detailed with many illustrations that reproduced well despite poor paper quality. The chapter on the structure of DNA is tied to mendelian laws and lacks molecular detail; for example, there is very little about the importance of histones in chromosome structure; however, the author properly points out that such detailed information is available in textbooks of molecular genetics.
