Abstract

According to this study:Among postmenopausal women in the Women's Health Initiative studies, use of estrogen plus progesterone for five-and-a-half years, or estrogen alone for seven years, did not increase the risk of dying after 18 years of follow-up.All-cause mortality rates were essentially the same: 27.1% among women receiving hormone therapy and 27.6% among those receiving placebo, with no differences across age groups.
