Identifying and Teaching Affective Skills in Optometric Education

Skills of interviewing, counseling, and patient management have been identified as vital parts of the ASCO curriculum model. This paper reviews the current status of the affective components of the optometric curriculum and describes a course which has as its goal the teaching of affective skills to optometry students.
