Abstract

Breast cancers may secrete a variety of cell products, one of which is human chorionic gonadotropin, but it is rare for them to display histologic features compatible with the hormone produced. This report describes an unusual occurrence of a primary ductal breast cancer with partial choriocarcinomatous differentiation in which the beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin was detected only in the areas with choriocarcinomatous features.
