Abstract

Nerve sheath tumors are relatively commonly encountered by the practicing pathologist, particularly superficial neurofibromas and schwannomas of the head and neck. The rarer forms and malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors can pose diagnostic problems. Here, several common and a few rare types of nerve sheath tumors are reviewed.
