Abstract

While the field has focused largely on Foxp3+ Tregs as mediators of regulatory allograft tolerance, a new study provides evidence that a ‘division of labor’ can occur between Tregs and IL-10-producing Tr1 cells in which each regulatory cell type can be required during differing phases of the tolerogenic response.
