Abstract

Intestinal transplantation is positioning itself within the broader context of intestinal failure management, or gut rehabilitation. We review the current standard of care for patients with intestinal failure and explore how earlier bowel transplantation may help avoid TPN-related complications. Also this month, we take a look at a UK pilot program that allows some patients with severe alcohol-associated hepatitis to be eligible for liver transplantation.
