A Nationwide Performance Measurement System to Assess Professional Training in Dementia Care

Abstract

When offering a professional training program nationwide, it is important to assess quality and effectiveness regularly. As part of an ongoing performance measurement system, the Alzheimer's Association has developed a survey for its Foundations of Dementia Care training participants. Two variables, session quality and trainer quality, that may affect results are examined in this article. The results indicate that although there may be slight differences in outcomes for different sessions, both satisfaction and outcomes are strongly associated with the trainer.
