Abstract

This month's clinical practice guideline (CPG) review is on the diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). ITP is not a condition that would be seen in great numbers by nurse practitioners (NPs) in general practice. However, due to the current lack of consensus on how to diagnosis and treat ITP and the potential for patients to have serious adverse sequelae, NPs may want to have a copy of this CPG on file in their offices for future reference.
