Abstract

Parastomal hernia in patients with ileostomy or colostomy is not an uncommon complication in the emergency department (ED). However, parastomal hernia with incarceration or strangulation is a relatively uncommon late complication, which can be seen in an emergency care facility. We present a case study of a patient with a massive strangulated parastomal hernia who was treated with emergency treatment and repair.
