The author makes the following suggestions: 1. All professional journals that do not do reviewing (or even listing) of new books should carry a continuing announcement to that effect conspicuously placed on the editorial page or on some other page where the notice will be easily seen by authors and by publishers. 2. Writers, bibliographers, and reference compilers should always give at least one given or Christian name of the authors in order to indicate the sex of the contributor. 3. Bibliographic references should contain not only the year, volume, and pagination, but also the month of publication. The author notes the practical difficulty in the attempt to conform to the style documented in the APA Publication manual. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
