Abstract

Comments that available research reports are increasingly being interpreted not by research-wise investigators but by layman policymakers. The implications for policy decisions affecting 3rd-party reimbursements and continued support of psychotherapy research are discussed. Recommendations for developing mechanisms for providing the decision-makers with a scientifically sound data base are offered. (30 ref) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
