Abstract

Discusses the measurement of agreement between manuscript reviewers and comments on R. Crandall's (1978) questioning of the use of correlational statistics and his proposal to use a percentage-of-agreement statistic. Journal editors should begin to assess directly the true agreement of their reviewers, rather than relying on the unproven assumption that valid allocation of journal pages is assured by current procedures.
