Abstract

Summary:Purple glove syndrome (PGS) often begins with discoloration and progresses to a petechial rash with induration or evidence of infiltration. The etiology of PGS is unknown, although various theories center around i.v. extravasation. We report a case of PGS in a child's foot associated with administration of Dilantin (phenytoin).
