Abstract

ABSTRACT

The Greater Murray Clinical School provides a community based medical education programme for the clinical years at the University of New South Wales. Being a new clinical school in rural Australia allowed the development of a patient-centred longitudinal curriculum. Students follow patients through the health care system, with each exposure stimulating the learning about different aspects of a patient problem. The paper outlines the conceptual approach towards the development and implementation of this novel approach to community based medical education.
