Abstract

Through the kinetically controlled approach, employing the methyl ester as an acyl donor, non-protein aliphatic amino acids were incorporated into peptides using papain in an aqueous buffer, while the incorporation of non-protein aromatic amino acids was achieved by exploiting α-chymotrypsin in an aqueous buffer or acetonitrile with low water content.
