Abstract

Describes the data resource that will result from the Canada Health Survey, a nationwide assessment of physical and emotional health which has recently completed the data collection phase. The conceptualization and measurement of well-being are discussed, and ways the data base can enhance understanding of the relationship between well-being, health, socioeconomic status, age, and activity are described. It is concluded that the Canada Health Survey should be an unusually valuable resource for psychologists interested in health and health-related behavior.
