This special section focuses on incarceration as a family affair. Incarceration has an impact that goes far beyond the individual. Inmates are also fathers, mothers, and husbands and wives. The articles in this special section of Couple and Family Psychology: Research and Practice represent a systematic view on the issue of parental incarceration. Our goal is to bring a systemic lens to the issues stimulating further discussion, development, and debate about the current status of the criminal justice system.
