Abstract

Shortcomings in the Peruvian public healthcare system affect the care provided by Peruvian anesthetists. Shortcomings that have a negative impact on perioperative management, including time to medical consultation, the referral process, and drug availability, are identified and compared with other contexts in Latin America.
