Abstract

Flexible bronchoscopy is routinely performed by the pulmonologist to assist in the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of pulmonary disorders. This article addresses the prevention, diagnosis, and management of common and uncommon complications of the procedure, including hypoxemia, methemoglobinemia, hemorrhage, pneumothorax, arrhythmias, fever, and infection.
