Abstract

Synopsis: The measurement of exhaled nitric oxide is becoming commonplace in the evaluation of patients with steroid-responsive asthma. This study showed that there might be utility to this test in the evaluation of patients without a known asthma diagnosis but who present with nonspecific respiratory symptoms.Source: Price DB et al. Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) as a predictor of response to inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) in patients with nonspecific respiratory symptoms and insignificant bronchodilator reversibility: a randomized controlled trial.
