Abstract

We know that the rate of most cancers increases with age: older people get cancer more often than younger people. But despite the obviousness of the situation, the disciplines of oncology and gerontology haven't been linked together in the clinic until recently. Precipitated by the ageing demographics of the world's population, nursing is now turning its attention to the care of older people with cancer, and one of the first conferences devoted to this association was the EONS Spring meeting held on 20-22 April in Innsbruck, Austria.
