Abstract

Head and neck fungating wounds are probably one of the most challenging aspects of cancer care for healthcare professionals, yet there is little literature available on their management. This article presents a case history as a method to describe some challenges nurses may face in caring for a patient with a head and neck fungating wound. The patient in question has a laryngectomy and the fungating wound is at the stoma opening.
