Abstract

A case of obstruction of the left main bronchus detected by a ventilation-perfusion lung scan is presented. This occurred following bronchoscopic biopsy of a lung tumor. Repeat bronchoscopy the following morning showed that the mobile endobronchial tumor seen 2 days earlier had disappeared leaving only a small ulcer. Presumably the tumor had been coughed up—a rare occurrence for lung tumors.
