Abstract

A 50-year-old man underwent routine cholescintigraphy with Tc-99m choletec for chronic abdominal pain. The cholescintigrams showed a large photopenic defect within the gallbladder suggesting an intraluminal mass. Sonography of the gallbladder revealed a normal gallbladder, and no intraluminal masses, gallstones, or sludge. These findings can be explained by nonuniform mixing of old and new bile.
