Abstract

Neuromuscular choristoma (NMC) is a rare benign peripheral nerve lesion consisting of mature skeletal muscle fibers admixed with nerve fascicles. Aggressive fibromatosis frequently develops in association with NMC, often after surgery or biopsy, but the exact pathogenesis is not known. We present a case of NMC complicated by aggressive fibromatosis evaluated by 18F-FDG PET/CT and examine the relationship of metabolic activity and MRI signal characteristics.
