Abstract

Hepatitis B and hepatitis C viruses are responsible of chronic liver disease, the efficient treatment of which would represent major public health progress. Even the partial success of interferon-α in the treatment of this viral disease is a major breakthrough. Besides interferon, new nucleoside analogs already appear to be promising against hepatitis B and C viruses. Altogether, these molecules should act synergitically, providing further hope in the therapy of human viral diseases.
