Abstract

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is now recognized as a diagnosis, and is listed in both DSM-IV and ICD-10. The concept and definition of traumatic events is changing, with implications for diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic responses. This review focuses particularly on the pathological effects of crime.
