Abstract

Habituation of the earthworm's response to vibration resulted in differential weakening of the 2 components of the response. Experimental tests of overhabituation upon recovery of the response components showed no signficant effects as measured in rehabituation 24 hr. later. Significant retention of the effects of habituation was found after 12, 24, 48, and 96 hr., but not after 192 hr. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
