An Iterative Method for the Poisson Equation and Its Multiprocessor Implementation

Abstract

An iterative multiprocessor method is proposed and implemented for solving the Poisson equation for problems in two- and three-dimensional spatial settings. The method is applied to simulate 3D fluid-dynamic flow in a cavity. The flow is simulated using a system of quasi-hydrodynamic equations. The calculation results are compared with the literature. Parallelization is found to be highly efficient.
