Abstract

Faculty at Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing identified a need to change the method of teaching basic nursing skills. A creative approach was needed to handle the increasing number of students without compromising the learning experience. The outdated media center was renovated into a computer laboratory. Self-instructional modules to teach skills were developed using interactive video technology, computer assisted instruction, and videocassettes. The change was a success.
