Abstract

Abstract summaryPhotoinduced endosomal release of dextran and LPEI, PLL and PDL polyplexes was examined by means of real time fluorescence microscopy. Dextran was released within 100 ms and diffused freely throughout the cytoplasm. Polyplexes showed distinguishable release patterns due to differences in DNA condensation and biodegradability. In addition, cellular effects of the photosensitizer on microtubules and endosomal movement were observed.
