Abstract

The recent literature on the use of interventional radiology for head and neck tumors emphasizes three areas of investigation, including the use of endovascular techniques for preoperative embolization and management of complications, the use of percutaneous puncture for the instillation of a compound to produce necrosis or devascularization, and the use of various imaging techniques to guide aspiration and biopsy.
