Abstract

An intra-areolar approach for breast augmentation is described. A circumferential incision is made around the nipple, and the surrounding areola undermined. Although the resultant incision is small, it is possible to insert a tightly folded implant into the submuscular or subglandular plane. The resultant scar is camouflaged at the nipple-areolar junction, becoming virtually imperceptible.
