A fundamental function of every peer-reviewed journal is manuscript evaluation. We have a superb Editorial Board, but the sheer volume and diversity of the manuscripts we receive precludes our Board members from shouldering the task of review without outside assistance. Thus, the success of our review process relies heavily on colleagues who are not on our Editorial Board, but who spend countless hours reviewing papers for Annals of Surgery.
At this time, we wish to publicly acknowledge their invaluable assistance. The following individuals have reviewed papers for us from July 1997 through September 1999.
Our enthusiastic thanks for your generosity and support. If we have inadvertently omitted your name, we invite you to let us know and ask that you accept our sincere apology.
