In the article by Rosengart et al. (Mitogen—Activated Protein Kinases in the Intensive Care Unit: Prognostic Potential (Annals of Surgery 2003;237:94–100), the last sentence in the first paragraph under the heading “Time Course of p38 Activation With LPS Stimulation rdquo; (p96) is incomplete. It should read as follows: “In five separate experiments the mean densitometric value of p38 phosphorylation at 30 minutes after LPS stimulation was 7.5 +/− 5.5 fold increased over nonstimulated controls.” The publisher apologizes for the error.
