Cardiovascular effects of anesthetic drugs

Abstract

This article reviews recent information regarding the cardiovascular effects of anesthetic drugs. These drugs may affect cardiac muscle function, myocardial oxygen supply and demand, cardiac conduction and peripheral vasculature. Knowledge of these effects and their mechanisms is important in the appropriate selection of anesthetics.
