Simulator training in anaesthesia

Abstract

This article reviews recent developments in the rapidly evolving field of anaesthesia simulation, from simple trainers to high-fidelity installations. Simulation can improve understanding of the fallibility of human perceptions of critical events. When used for human factors training and research, interactions with equipment, environment and organizational cultures are important.
