Fan-Beam Tc-99m HMPAO Brain SPECT in Acute Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Abstract

Carbon monoxide intoxication causes a wide variety of neurologic and psychiatric disorders. Presented is the case of a 20-year-old patient with acute carbon monoxide poisoning. This report compares the findings of brain SPECT and CT images and emphasizes the benefit of Tc-99m HMPAO fan-beam brain SPECT.
