Abstract

Abstract

We evaluated a male patient with chronic heart failure using Ga-67 citrate and F-18 FDG imaging to eliminate secondary dilated cardiomyopathy resulting from sarcoidosis. Tracer accumulated bilaterally in the breast tissue during both imaging procedures. This uptake was probably the result of bilateral gynecomastia caused by therapeutic spironolactone administration in addition to standard therapy for chronic heart failure.
